But the people of Jerusalem said,
“The Lord has abandoned us! He has forgotten us.”
So the Lord answers,
“Can a woman forget her own baby and not love the child she bore? Even if a mother should forget her child, I will never forget you.”
(Isaiah 49:14-15)

Until now, I am still puzzled about how I ended up taking an Accountancy program. Seriously, I do not have any idea. Before I graduated from high school, I already had my plans. But I think God has a plan for me that is better than the plans I had for myself.

I had a hard time looking for a school. With lots of searching and thinking, I finally decided to enter at De La Salle Araneta University. My aim was to enroll in BS Computer Science. I only realized that I took BS Accountancy until I reached my second year in college.

That time, I felt like God has forgotten me. Some of my friends were enrolled in their dream universities and courses. Someday, they will be employed in their dream work. But me? I just want to throw up every time I study accounting. It seems like God has plans for my classmates and He forgot that I actually exist.

Do you ever feel being overlooked by God?

If yes, that’s not true. In fact, He is more actively involved in every single detail of your life than you think.

God is always mindful of you. Everyday, he cares for you. Before you wake up in the morning, he is thinking of you. He makes sure that there is food on your table. He never withholds bread in your mouth. God provides clothes for you to wear. He protects you on your way home. In the night, you lie down and sleep, in the morning, you wake up again because he sustains you. The moment God formed you in your mother’s womb, he already chose you for great things. In His eyes, you are special. His plans are always to prosper you and not to harm you.

I realized, if I did not become a BSA student, I would never know Jesus. I surrendered my life to Him when I was 3rd-year college. And for that, I am very grateful. If God doesn’t care, I am still in pain, confused, and lost. If He forgets me, then I am still hopeless and empty. Indeed, everything happens for a purpose — for His very purpose.

God is always true to His word. Maybe right now, you don’t understand what you are going through. But every setback, hardship, turmoil, and pain is set-up for what God plans in the future. This world may try to steal your peace and cause you to worry, but God always unveils His faithfulness.

Living in a shattered world, we cannot deny the fact that brokenness exists even inside a family. For some, they long for the love of their father because they live in a fatherless home. But whether you are still with your father or not, you can be secure because you have a Heavenly Father on whom you can call on to. Continue in faith knowing that you have a Father watching over you. And in case you don’t know Him yet, start putting your trust in Him because He cares for you. Even if someone may forget you, the Lord, at the same time your Father will always tell you, “I will never forget you!”

  1. Wow! If entertaining the wrong course was so that you can get closer to God, then wow, how he pursues you and loves you! He has your best interest and eternal life with him is better than entire earthly life without Him. He has great plans for you and I am grateful he doesn’t forget us even when forget Him! 💕

    1. Hi Jessy! I’m so glad that you stopped by. Amen! Indeed, the Lord does not and will never forget us even if we always do. Btw, I hope to get to know you better. God bless your day!💚
